Sarah has been weaving and dyeing for over fifteen years, and has experience in a breadth of textile processes that she will be able to teach you, including: natural dyeing (growing, harvesting, extracting), specialized resist processes such as ikat and shibori, weaving (tapestry, floor loom, rigid heddle), advanced weaving techniques such as double & triple weave (yes I said TRIPLE, or even quadruple), brocade, embroidery … and more!

We will start with a simple question, “what do you want to make?” and then tell you how we can guide you towards that goal. We will discuss in detail what that process will look like, estimate material cost, create a timeline, and schedule our first lesson!

Private instruction is tailored to each individual. We are currently teaching with masks on (or off if both parties are vaxed and consent) and outside when possible. We also are offering virtual instructions for those of you who live far away or are staying home for other reasons!
